Characters

Sunni Forrest:

Sunni is a gutsy, down-to-earth fourteen-year-old who wants to be an artist more than anything. She’s fascinated by the paintings of the old masters, especially those by Fausto Corvo, and sets out to learn as much as she can about him – with no idea of how this path will test her loyalty and courage.

Dean Rivers:

Dean, Sunni’s twelve-year-old stepbrother, is more interested in playing computer games than hanging out with Sunni – and she’d rather do anything than drag him around. Brash and irritating, Dean is a typically annoying younger brother.

Blaise Doran:

A friendly, laid back fourteen-year-old American, Blaise is passionate about his dream of becoming an artist. He creates a buzz when he arrives at Braeside High because he looks cool and draws like a dream. But Blaise wishes he were half as cool as his idol, Fausto Corvo.

Lorimer Bell:

Popular and dedicated to inspiring kids, Lorimer is Sunni and Blaise’s art teacher at Braeside High. His classroom is a hang out for art-loving pupils, but he may not be as straightforward as he seems.

Angus Bellini:

Lorimer’s cousin, who is also a painter. Charismatic and confident, but only interested in himself, Angus has a chequered past as an art forger who supposedly has reformed. He has been a thorn in Lorimer’s side for years.

Fausto Corvo (also known as il Corvo or the Raven):

A fascinating, multi-talented artist from Renaissance Venice. He is legendary for his abilities as a master painter, designer, poet and swordsman. But the shadowy side of his work and his mysterious disappearance in 1582 still inspire rumours and speculation.
